Cashmere

• Washing:
  Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water (max 30°C/86°F) with a mild, neutral detergent for delicates; turn garment inside out and soak for 10-15 minutes, gently massaging without rubbing or twisting.
  Machine wash only if label permits: use delicate cycle at 30°C, place in a laundry bag, low spin (max 400 rpm).
  Rinse thoroughly until no detergent remains; avoid bleach, fabric softeners, or dry cleaning (which can damage fibers).
  
• Drying:
  Gently press excess water out with a towel (do not wring); lay flat on a clean towel in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources to reshape and air dry.
  Avoid tumble drying, hanging (which can stretch), or exposure to sunlight.
  
• Ironing:
  Ironing rarely needed; use steam function on lowest wool setting with a pressing cloth over the garment, or steam from a shower/distance.
  Spray water on wrinkles if needed; avoid direct high heat.
  

Merino Wool

• Washing:
  Hand wash in lukewarm water (max 30°C/86°F) with wool-specific mild detergent; turn inside out, soak for 10 minutes, gently press without rubbing.
  Machine wash if label allows: delicate or wool cycle at 30°C, in a laundry bag, low or no spin; separate from other fabrics to prevent felting.
  Rinse in cold water; avoid hot water, bleach, or fabric softeners.
  
• Drying:
  Blot excess water with a towel and lay flat on a clean towel to air dry in a ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat.
  Reshape while damp; avoid tumble drying or hanging to prevent distortion.
  
• Ironing:
  Ironing rarely needed; use steam function on lowest wool setting with a pressing cloth over the garment, or steam from a shower/distance.

Wool (General)

• Washing:
  Hand or machine wash on wool cycle with cold water and Woolmark-approved detergent; wool is naturally stain- and odor-resistant, so wash infrequently.
  Turn inside out; avoid rubbing or twisting to prevent felting or shrinkage.
  
• Drying:
  Lay flat to air dry after washing, unless label specifies tumble dry on low; reshape gently.
  Avoid direct sunlight or radiators to prevent shrinkage or color fading.
  
• Ironing:
  Use medium (2-dot) heat setting; lay flat, reshape by hand, spray lightly, and press gently through a cloth.
  

Plant-Based Fabrics

Cotton

• Washing:
  Machine wash with cold or warm water on a gentle cycle.

  Some cotton (unless pre-shrunk) may shrink.
  
• Drying:
  Tumble dry on low heat to prevent wrinkles.

• Ironing:

Linen/Flax

• Washing:
  Use gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water (30°C/86°F).
  Hand washing is recommended for delicate items.
  Wash separately or with like colors, especially during first washes; use mild detergent and avoid bleach.
  
• Drying:
  Air drying is recommended: lay flat or hang.
  If using a dryer, choose low heat and remove while still damp.
  Do not over-dry to prevent stiffness or brittleness.
  
• Ironing:
  Iron on high (cotton/linen) setting at 110-200°C/230-392°F while slightly damp with steam; for dry-cleaned items, turn off steam.
  

Ramie

• Washing:
  Hand wash in cool water for best results, or machine wash on delicate cycle at 30°C/86°F if necessary.
  Use mild detergent without bleach, phosphates, or dyes; avoid rubbing stains.
  Wash with similar colors to prevent dye transfer; turn inside out and load machine halfway to reduce creasing.
  
• Drying:
  Air dry by shaking out and spreading flat, or hang to maintain shape.
  Tumble dry on low if necessary, but avoid high heat to prevent fiber damage; dry in shade to avoid fading on colored fabrics.
  
• Ironing:

Leather and Suede

Suede

• Cleaning:
  Brush regularly with a soft suede brush in the direction of the nap to remove dirt and restore texture; use a pencil eraser or suede eraser for scuffs and small stains.
  For light marks, dilute a suede cleaner (like eco-friendly options) heavily in warm water and dab gently; avoid water immersion.
  Spot clean spills immediately by blotting (do not rub); for wet suede, air dry naturally then brush to revive nap. Dry clean professionally only if necessary, using green earth methods.
  
• Storage:
  Store in a cool, ventilated, dark space away from sunlight, heat, or damp; use dust bags or breathable cloth covers (never plastic) to allow breathing and prevent crushing.
  Hang on broad hangers; for boots, use trees to maintain shape.
  
• Maintenance:
  Apply suede protector spray monthly (from a distance, test first) for water/dirt resistance; brush after wear to remove dust.
  

Leather

• Cleaning:
  Wipe marks with a neutral microfiber cloth; for dirt or mud, brush off when dry and clean with diluted leather cleaner.
  Condition every 1-2 months with a leather balm (test first); avoid fabric cleaners or home remedies.
  If wet, air dry naturally away from heat; professional cleaning for deep stains to restore oils without damage.
  
• Storage:
  Keep in dust bags or boxes in a cool, dry area; avoid plastic bags, direct sunlight, or humid spots to prevent drying/cracking.
  For bags/boots, stuff with paper to hold shape; use boot trees for footwear.
  
• Maintenance:
  Apply leather conditioner regularly; air out after use and avoid abrasive rubbing against other surfaces.
